AWOS Damaged in November Windstorm

Like the beacon, the AWOS was damaged in the November wind storm

When that wind storm went through in November the power surge took out the AWOS.  First there was a main circuit board that had to be replaced.  The anemonmeter was also replaced along with lights at the top of the tower.  Outside access to the AWOS data by the phone was and is still out.  The phone line was inspected by AT&T and deemed in good repair.  The next possibility is a circuit card in the AWOS computer.  A new card will cost around $3500.  We have our service provider looking into it.  He’s looking for a way to test this before we spend the $3500.  In the meantime the AWOS was available on 12/09/2020 to pilots via radio and flight planning applications.
